About LegalPAZ

What is a Legal Paraprofessional?

An Arizona Legal Paraprofessional (LP) is licensed by the Arizona Supreme Court to give legal advice, prepare and file documents, negotiate, and appear in court in specific areas of law. Their practice is limited to the areas of law the license authorizes.

Who will handle my matter?

Every matter is supervised by John “Jack” Hastings, the firm’s Arizona Licensed Legal Paraprofessional, who also appears in court for clients. He is supported by the LegalPAZ team.

Where does LegalPAZ practice?

Statewide in Arizona, in justice courts, municipal courts, and Superior Court for select family law and protective order matters.

Services

What does LegalPAZ handle?

Traffic citations, misdemeanors where jail time is not being sought, civil suits and demand letters of $10,000 or less, personal injury claims of $10,000 or less, and, on a limited basis, tenant defense, select family law cases, and protective orders and injunctions against harassment.

What does LegalPAZ not handle?

Felonies, DUI, misdemeanors where jail time is being sought, evictions for landlords, bankruptcy, immigration, appeals, and estate planning.

I have a criminal charge but don’t know if jail time is being sought. Should I still call?

Yes. Call 928.494.1842 regardless. We can discuss your case and confirm whether jail time is being sought. If it is not, LegalPAZ may be able to represent you.

My claim is over $10,000. Can you still help?

LegalPAZ handles civil, demand, and injury claims of $10,000 or less. If yours is larger, start an intake anyway and LegalPAZ can refer you to an Arizona licensed attorney or other attorney when appropriate.

Can you appear in court for me?

Yes, for matters within LP scope. That includes justice and municipal court hearings and trials, and Superior Court appearances in select family law matters.

I am representing myself. Can you help with just part of my case?

Often, yes. Limited-scope help such as preparing one filing or getting ready for one hearing can be arranged. Describe what you need in the intake.

Fees

How much does it cost?

It depends on the matter. After the free intake review, you get a written fee quote before any work begins. You are not charged anything until you agree to it in writing.

Is the intake really free?

Yes. Submitting the online intake and getting an answer on whether LegalPAZ can take your matter costs nothing.

Getting started

What is the fastest way to get help?

The online intake. It goes straight to our team with everything needed to review your matter, including your court date and the other party’s name for a conflict check.

What if my court date is very soon?

Put the date in the intake form. Matters with hearings in the next few days are reviewed first. You can also call 928.494.1842 any time.

Does submitting the intake make me a client?

No. You become a client only after LegalPAZ confirms an engagement in writing and you sign it. Until then, do not miss any deadline while waiting to hear back.

Who answers the phone line?

The 24/7 intake line is answered by an AI receptionist that takes your information and passes it to our team. The online intake reaches us the same way, with more detail.

Find out if LegalPAZ can help

The online intake takes about three minutes. Our team reviews every one, and you will hear back with a clear answer and a written fee quote if it is a fit.
